Carolyn Olson Joins Senior Care Authority Louisiana
Certified Dementia Consultant helps families find senior living solutions
NEW ORLEANS – Carolyn Olson has joined Senior Care Authority Louisiana as a dementia and eldercare advisor. Olson will provide guidance, training, and assistance with housing solutions for families and professionals caring for the elderly and people with dementia.
Olson has devoted her career to the healthcare industry serving in a variety of positions including clinic practice manager, rehabilitation community care coordinator, and business development. Most recently Olson worked as a Healthcare Account Executive for A Place for Mom where she assisted healthcare professionals and families with referrals to senior living communities.
Olson newly completed her certification as a dementia consultant through Positive Approach® to Care, a company that provides dementia care training, services, and products around the world. In her roll at Senior Care Authority, Olson will work with individual families and healthcare professionals to provide guidance and training about the stages of dementia
“While working with the seniors, I saw firsthand the toll that caring for someone with dementia takes on families and caregivers,” said Olson. “Much of the stress is caused by a lack of understanding on how to appropriately interact with dementia patients. I want to equip people with the knowledge and tools to improve the quality of life for both dementia patients and those that care for them.”
Olson will also work with families to find the best solutions for assisted living and dementia care for their loved ones.
Carolyn Olson can be reached by phone at 985-210-7172.
